BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

At Registration, all solicitor firms will be required to provide evidence of compliance with the Basic Entry Requirements, namely that the following policies and procedures are in place in their office:
  1. Policy regarding standards of professional conduct;
  2. Procedure for personal work and time recording;
  3. Procedure for case recording;
  4. Description of system of financial recording;
  5. Procedure for training and sample training record;
  6. Procedure for supervision of staff;
  7. Procedure for document control;
  8. Procedure for case review;
  9. Procedure for client reporting; and
  10. Procedure for complaints.

BESPOKE POLICIES & PROCEDURES

All registered firms must establish, maintain and enforce 
  • a policy embodying the Standards of Professional Conduct (Part 3, Code of Practice, 9 sub-sections);
  • a documented System of Management and Administration (Part 5, Code of Practice, 10 sub-sections).​
All registered solicitors must deliver
  • a Standard of Professional Service expected of professionally competent solicitors (Part 4, Code of Practice, 22 sub-sections).
